Come out this weekend, kick back and enjoy students sharing all kinds of poetry.

Rutgers Camden is hosting its second “Louder Than A Bomb Poetry Slam” and it’s going to be a blast! More than 100 students from Burlington, Camden, and Hudson Counties will face off in the poetry slam which will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 10 A.M.- 4 A.M. and Sunday, April 19, from noon to 4 P.M.

The poetry slam will be the pinnacle of an anticipated yearlong collection of creative works from students from Burlington County Institute of Technology, Cinnaminson High School, Collingswood High School, The Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Gloucester City High School, High Tech High School, MetEast High School, and Urban Promise Academy, along with members of the Lifting Up Camden’s Youth Squad.

One of last year’s attendees, Alex White, said “It was very exciting to see poets of all ages come together in one place and bring such awesome creativity for everyone to enjoy. He also expressed how he was looking forward to this year’s poetry slam and hopes to have just as much of a good time as last year”.

This is a FREE event, open to the public, and will take place in the Multi-Purpose Conference Room and in the ABC South Conference Rooms in the Campus Center. Both days will include non-judged open mic guest opportunities for all ages.

Poetry brings out those most inner thoughts that are full of life and color. The words burst out like a burst of paint that explodes on a canvas of life. We look forward to seeing you there.
