For most of us Rutgers-Camden students, it seems like just yesterday that we first attended Rutgers. With many of us in our junior/senior years, we’re no longer the newbies. With a new batch of college ready youngsters, Rutgers will hold its Admitted Students day.
According to Robert Barchi, Rutgers president, the university is “already seeing the benefits of entering the Big Ten and its academic counterpart, the Committee on Institutional Cooperation. Applications for admission to Rutgers are up by 12 percent, with out-of-state applications up by 15 percent.
The average SAT score of admitted applicants to Rutgers has increased by more than 20 points since our entrance to the Big Ten; this is an unprecedented improvement, Barchi said. Current Rutgers-Camden students can expect to see a lot more unfamiliar faces around campus.
Rutgers’ Admitted Students day is currently scheduled for Saturday, April 25. Congratulations to all freshman, transfers and graduate students who will be joining the Rutgers-Camden community this fall. Students who were admitted for the 2015-2016 academic school year should have received an invitation for this event in March. All students who plan to attend must register in advance.
